3 Things We Wished We’d Grasped Before Graduating College
Have you ever asked a friend, relative, teacher, or even a stranger, “What do you wish you knew before finishing college?”
Here are a few things we think would’ve been helpful to know:
1. The first job you take likely won’t be, nor does it have to be, where you retire.
2. It is better to take time off from college and devise a plan for your future career than to finish school just to be finished.
3. Don’t choose a path just because it’s what you think people expect you to choose.
Remember these simple truths: Everyone is finding their way in this world, and no one can know or will know everything they should know before making the important decisions in their life. However, you can give yourself an edge.
Take advantage of the people in your life. Learn what you can from your friends, family, teachers, and even strangers who are merely new friends in the making. There’s great value in learning from one another. That’s what makes social platforms like LinkedIn such a powerful tool.
