Why Not to Buy From Us: The Truth About Resume Writing
Not where you expected this post to go, I know. Hear me out.
Job seekers understand their own needs and requirements, but they usually lack an understanding of the value that meeting their needs will provide them. Sure, almost everyone will admit a better job would be nice — more money, a better boss, less of a commute. Who doesn’t want that? If you’re reading this, you have probably seen several price tags on resume products. You’ve seen the price tag, maybe an example product, and anticipate that your new resume will be delivered to you upon purchase and your dream job will fall into your lap. But what if I told you that a resume is only a small part of what goes into getting a new job? That the best value when purchasing a resume is not the resume itself, rather, it is the service in which it is acquired?
Say for example, that you’re in the market for a product you can get from either company A or company B. Company A pushes the product — “Here’s what we do. This is what it will look like. This is how much it will cost.”
Company B shares their service process — “Here’s what we do. This is how we do it. This is why we do it. We charge this, but we promise you’ll be satisfied, or we’ll give it all back.”
Which supplier would you be more inclined to buy from? Company A promises an effective product, but Company B promises an effective service. You’re not buying a product from them. You’re investing in a relationship. You’re investing in value.
I could spend all day telling you about our products — talking up our speed, reliability, and work quality. I could tell you about all of the things we do differently from the competitors. I could make a hard push to convince you that CareerLaunch has the best product out there but I’m not going to. While I do believe that, I’m not here to sell you a product. You shouldn’t buy a resume update or LinkedIn profile from us, and here’s why:
At CareerLaunch, we are more interested in providing you with a service than selling you a product. We are human beings and working professionals — just like you. We understand the importance of trust and delivery in a business relationship. We understand that what we offer our clients needs to be much more than a well-written resume and cover letter. We understand that “value” comes from empowering you with the skills, know-how, and confidence you need to conquer your job search. We understand that without trust and consistency — that same value is lost.
Will your resume have all of the bells and whistles? Certainly. But more importantly, so will you. Throughout our process, you will learn more about yourself and what makes you an above-average employee. You’ll have a document that is the best representation of yourself on paper that you could hope for. Your unique experiences, qualifications, drive, and desires are yours and yours alone. Whether you’re diving into a new career as a seasoned professional, or you’re fresh out of grad school — those tools have stood the test of time. It’s knowing how to utilize them that proves tricky for job searchers. That is where we come in.
What makes CareerLaunch great? Knowing that not only is our work important to us, but your career is too.
Is your resume outdated and in need of a refresh? Do you understand the importance of proper keyword usage in your cover letter? Are you intimidated by building a professional profile on networks like LinkedIn? Do you just not know where to begin to make yourself stand out? Don’t worry — we’ve got you. This is where we shine. This is where our value outweighs our cost. Don’t buy from us. Instead, invest in us. Let us invest in you.
